The 9th day of my November 2023 England trip dawned in the shadow of Storm Debbie. The plans for this day were for all of us to hop on trains in our respective cities and converge on the city of York.

The world is far, far too much right now. The sadness and fear and overwhelm are all so oppressive, and the last thing I want in my choice of media entertainment is something to add to that feeling. It’s why I have almost exclusively read cosy fantasy books as of late.

“One misty moisty morning as I walked through the heather…” as the Steeleye Span song goes. The eighth morning of my November England trip dawned grey and fog-laden. Our destination was a particular Regency folly outside Ilton in Yorkshire.

Well, after a little pause, it’s time to continue the summary of my adventures on my first trip to England in November, 2023. This day, the seventh of my trip, was devoted to the faeries.

England Day Six! Officially past the halfway point of the 11 day trip at some point this day. And of all the days of my trip, this is the blog that will be the shortest because I was so busy enjoying, I hardly got out my phone to take photos!
