Cosy Early Autumn

This morning, I was running around the kitchen in my fluffy warm bathrobe after last night's blanket-bundling low of 42 degrees, and I smiled at this vignette: potatoes to make a warm cosy soup tonight, autumn colors in a pitcher, lavender honey, and two mugs made by a friend, nestled in a squirrel shelf.

I started thinking about all the comforts I can enjoy again in the colder days: hot evening tea time, candles burning everywhere now that the ceiling fans don't have to be on. I know the longer nights and cold days will grow old eventually and spring will be a respite, but for now, I celebrate the little glimmers autumn brings.
